TD Charitable Foundation Contributes to the Training and Employability of Victims of Domestic Violence

TD Bank Charitable Foundation makes generous grant of $5,000 to assist victims of domestic violence. This gift will make a real difference in the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s efforts in providing its Vocational Advocacy Project (VAP) which is a multi-service employment program. This program provides skills assessments, computer class training, job readiness and employment placement. Many victims stay in abusive relationships because they cannot provide for themselves and their children. VAP helps victims gain financial independence thus breaking the cycle of violence. "TD Charitable Foundation provides financial and other support to educational, community, human service, arts, and health-related programs, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families" commented Mr. Fishon.
